Life is sweet

Mielikuvituksen puutteesta ja laiskuudestani johtuen saatte nauttia minun ja Jennyn ytimekkäästä matkapäiväkirjasta Bostonin reissulta. Here we go.

DAY 1

~ Landing in foggy rainy Boston, metro to our hostel – HI-Downtown.
~ Heading to Cambridge/Harvard, raining cats and dogs, WIND, suffering tourists looking for a building that doesn’t exist.
~ Fascinating MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) Museum
~ Went out for a little fancier dinner at Charley’s Newsbury Saloon, pretty Christmas lights and MUSIC.
~ Good night @ 8:18pm
~ P.S. Ocean City pictures are HILARIOUS! If only you could see them..

Harvard

Christmas

DAY 2

~ Nice breakfast after loooong sleep
~ Freedom trail, here we come! Wish Eva was with us as we are not that into history.
~ Walking, walking, walking.. I know you love me, Jenny!
~ The ugliest Hard Rock Café that we’ve seen so far, though inside it looked pretty nice.
~ Lots of steps (291), all the way to the top of the Bunker Hill (=fake Washington Monument in the eyes of almost DC resident).
~ Follow the red line, the red line..
~ Graveyards and lots of history
~ Navy Yard
~ BOSTON SKYLINE by night and at least 100 pictures (oh, did you know that it gets dark so early!)
~ Chinatown dinner (um, where did you forgot our dessert?)
~ Picture party @ hostel

Tourists’ Steps of Life in Boston
Step 1:  life is sweet (hello Boston!)
Step 2:  life is against us (evil metro and rain)
Step 3:  freezing to death (the wind comes)
Step 4:  reincarnation (say hello to the sun)
Step 5:  life is sweet again (can you believe, we’re in BOSTON!)

Freedom trail

My beautiful travel companion

DAY 3

~ Early wake up and breakfast
~ Museum of  Science and totally overrated Harry Potter exhibition ($26 was way too much)
~ Walk, walk, walk to the Quincy Market for all American lunch.
~ Last piece of Freedom trail and the lovely park with ice rink and (swan boat) lake (OUT OF BATTERY no fair, dear Nikon :( ).
~ Let’s take a video “Yay, we’re in Boston!”
~ Walking – downtown – walking – Starbucks – walking – shops – walking – Starbucks, see the pattern?

City

Skating

Soon we (Jenny, as I already got everything with me) need to go and get our stuff – and go back home (by bus, what were we thinking?). Fortunately we live in DC <3

Anyway, WE ♥ BOSTON!

Love, Maija & Jenny

Lähtisin kernaasti uudemmankin kerran, jos rahnaa riittäisi. Valokuvauksellinen kaupunki ja oijjoi haluan tutustua paremmin sen historiaan!
